Job summary

The role
Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, you will undertake a significant role in developing, implementing and embedding our People Plan enabling strategies and innovative practices throughout the Trust. Staff engagement, embedding our values and supporting a culture change journey will underpin the purpose of this role.
A key focus of the role will be to lead the Trust agenda for Staff Engagement, Equality Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Wellbeing and responding to our staff survey results.
You will champion the culture of Inclusion at South Tees Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and work collaboratively across the organisation. You will support the continuous development of the infrastructure for staff networks and support the Network Chairs whilst supporting leaders and the wider workforce to be accountable around initiatives that address inequity.
The successful candidate will work in conjunction with key stakeholders to support the implementation of both the national and local People Plan across the Trust. Our partnership working ethos with trade union colleagues is at the heart of our engagement strategy and this role will play a vital link in continuing these relationships.
Main duties of the job
You will have an understanding of issues relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within large complex organisations, and whilst experience in the NHS or the public sector is not required, an understanding would be an advantage. You will need to bring passion, insights and energy to our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda and be excited at the prospect of engaging in new innovative and creative ways in addressing and working on culture change relating to EDI.
You will have a passion for staff engagement and working with key stakeholders. You will develop and deliver an engagement plan to embed the Trust values through the delivery of the South Tees Way. Developing a restorative, just and learning culture where colleagues have a psychologically safe working environment.
With a strong analytical understanding and a great eye for detail, you will be responsible for analysing complex data and interpret reports, such as some of the NHS regulatory frameworks including our Equality Delivery System, Workforce Race Equality Scheme and Workforce Disability Equality Scheme.
The successful candidate will be an established leader with substantial senior HR experience, stakeholder engagement skills and a proven track record of implementing people strategies and innovative practice across organisations. You will be highly driven, goal and action orientated and have a talent for inspiring and motivating others whilst being able to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
This individual will have the ability to establish strong working relationships and inspire individuals and teams to deliver and improve the services we offer to our patients. You will be able to confidently engage with colleagues, chair a number of working groups and have highly developed planning skills.
