Lead nurse / AHP for Nutrition and Hydration

Main duties of the job
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of progressive, authentic, transformational leadership, to drive a culture of quality care to improve outcomes and experience for patients who use our services in relation to nutrition and hydration, with a responsibility to lead strategic programmes of work across the Trust to support delivery of the Nutrition and Hydration Strategy, under direction of the Trust Nutrition Steering Group.
You must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and able to demonstrate your experience of developing a culture of high performance and excellence. You should be able to manage a developing nutrition nurse team and will provide expert clinical advice and support to key Trust staff to ensure nutrition and hydration is a key patient safety priority. You will evaluate and lead on multi-disciplinary decision making forums in relation to patients with complex nutritional needs.
You will be responsible for ensuring effective, day to day management of the Nutrition Nurse team, to achieve adequate and appropriate cover across all South Tees NHS Hospitals sites, deliver key quality, performance and financial plans, inform policy and procedure development and achieve service improvements. Previous experience in this specialty is essential.

Leadership and Improvement Training
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:
- Explore leadership within the NHS
- Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
- Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
- Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role
After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
