Job summary

28.5 hours per week (Fixed term for one year)

We are looking for an experienced staff nurse with a demonstrable interest and experience in diabetes to join our well established and friendly diabetes team based at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton. This is an excellent developmental opportunity for a staff nurse looking to progress themselves within the field of diabetes.

Main duties of the job

The team is at the forefront of advances in diabetes care and provide a number of specialist services including input into Antenatal clinics, foot clinics, transition and young adult clinics and specialist in-patient advice within the Friarage Hospital.

The team works very closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team which includes Diabetes Consultants, dietitians and podiatrists. The Friarage Hospital is an established DAFNE and Insulin pump centre and works closely with our Primary Care Colleagues to ensure people in the community with diabetes get the best possible care.

Providing education and support to patients, carers and health care professionals is a large part of the role and we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed staff nurse who wishes to extend their expertise in this field and be a part of this innovative service.

A commitment to further learning and development is required however an induction and preceptorship will be given by the team.
