Location: South Tees Hospitals (Friarage Hospital) and Community Locations (Whitby Hospital)

We are looking for a highly self-motivated specialist nurses/extended scope physiotherapist to become Triage and Treat Practitioner working within Community Locations throughout the Hambleton, Richmondshireand Whitby Region (mainly at Friarage and Whitby Hospitals).

Main duties of the job

The Triage and Treat Practitioner Teamprovide a single access point leading to a high quality service to patients suffering with back pain and radicular pain. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills in a supportive and friendly environment.

A flexible approach, reliability, the ability to remain calm under pressure and excellent interpersonal, presentation and decision-making skills are all essential requirements for the role.

About us

South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals.

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit and an emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad. In 2012 the Middlesbrough hospital completed a £35 million redevelopment of its cancer services and is now proud to provide some of the best facilities in Europe. The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.

The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is an essential part of our organisation and an important point of delivery for the community. It is one of the smallest district general hospitals in the country and has 189 inpatient beds.
