An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dietetic Assistant/Support worker at the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. We are a small friendly team and this role would be to support the dietitians who work in both the acute and community settings.

We welcome individuals with excellent communication skills, a high level of IT proficiency, and an interest in nutrition.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the team you will complete basic clinical assessment to support the dietitians with patients requiring nutritional support.You will be required to use various computer systems including systm1 and be responsible foradministrative work including organisation and data for patient groups with type 2 diabetes.

Recent experience of working in a patient facing role in a healthcare setting and good knowledge of the NHS is essential for this post.

We are a base training for dietetic students.

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
  • To have achieved a relevant nutrition qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent or have equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Member of the British Dietetic Association
