Job summary

Waiting Well is an exciting new programme in South Tees developed to support the health and wellbeing of patients before planned surgery. The programme is a collaboration between South Tees Hospitals NHSFT and Public Health South Tees. The post will be based at South Tees Hospitals and will play a key central coordinating role between the 2 partner organisations.

The programme is focussed around improving the health and wellbeing of patients who are on a surgical waiting list through wellbeing, exercise, and other lifestyle support (prehabilitation). The programme is one of the first of its type in the UK and provides a great opportunity to be involved in delivering excellent patient care as part of a dynamic team.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated administrative co-ordinator, to take up this exciting opportunity, working within the Waiting Well project team. If you are highly motivated, flexible with a "can-do" approach this opportunity may be for you. You will be vital to the success of the project.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, acquired through training and experience to Vocational Level 4 / diploma or equivalent demonstratable experience

  • Attendance at foundation improvement training and the new and aspiring leaders program within first year of role

  • Extensive use of Office and Outlook, including word, excel and PowerPoint, e-mail and internet
