Salary range £23,330 to £24,882 plus pension and staff benefits
37.5 hours per week - must be able to work flexibly to cover training sessions
South Tees Research Innovation and Education (STRIVE) are looking to appoint an innovative and dynamic simulation technician within the simulation service.
As a simulation technician you would be an integral part of the simulation team. Your day to day role will be to provide operational coordination of all technical aspects of clinical education within simulation, clinical, classroom and virtual learning environments.
Main duties of the job
In essence this is to provide technical support to clinical and simulation educators in the planning, preparing and running of activities in our modern training facilities.
A typical day would involve:
- Day to day technical set up involving room and equipment set up
- Operate simulators, audio visual systems and virtual reality headsets
- Supporting simulation training
- Health and safety and maintenance of equipment
- Diagnose and repair minor technological faults
- Stock control and ordering of supplies
- Liaise with teaching and event staff to clarify session requirements
- Application and removal of moulage (make-up) for special effects
- Ensure all appropriate documentation is completed and accurate
- Follow booking processes and procedures
- Use of Microsoft office and other associated software required for the role
Whilst a large part of this role is supporting our clinical educators, a background in healthcare is not necessary. The ideal applicant will have a technical and creative approach to problem solving. You be professional and approachable as a customer-facing member of the team. Attention to details and ability to follow instructions and processes is essential.
