OUR SURGICAL WARD IS LOOKING FOR ENTHUSIASTIC AND HIGHLY MOTIVATED NURSING ASSOCIATES!
We specialise in care for patients requiring emergency surgery, intestinal failure, intravenous and enteral nutrition, trauma, long stay enhanced recovery and general surgery!!
Main duties of the job
We work very closely with neighbouring wards 5, 6 and 8. Therefore you can gain further experience and knowledge with opportunities to work in these areas.
The Band 4 Nurse Associate will work as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and have responsibility for their own practice and behaviour. They will be allocated their own caseload of patients each shift and will be expected to work independently, holistically assessing patients' needs, planning and prioritising their workload and implementing evidence based care, evaluating the outcomes of care under the minimal supervision of the registered nurse.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
About us

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.
The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is an essential part of our organisation and an important point of delivery for the community. It is one of the smallest district general hospitals in the country and has 189 inpatient beds.
