Job summary

An exciting fellowship opportunity in Prehabilitation, Perioperative Medicine and research is available in the Perioperative Medicine and Critical Care Group at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from August 2022 (or as soon after as feasible). A range of cutting-edge Quality Improvement and academic opportunities will be available to the successful applicant. This includes a unique opportunity to work with our team in secondary care and Public Health, leading the next stage of development of our nationally recognised prehabilitation before surgery programme: PREPWELL. The post will also provide opportunities to be involved in the departments established research programme in pre-hospital and perioperative medicine.

Main duties of the job

The post is out-of-programme and for 12 months, with applicants required to hold the first part of the FRCA qualification (or equivalent). Applications from post-CCT individuals are also encouraged. The post incorporates a 50% clinical commitment in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine.

  • Primary FRCA
  • GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • Current ALS
  • Initial assessment of Competence in Obstetric Anaesthesia

Desirable

  • Additional qualification in research methods, statistics, quality improvement, leadership

Experience

  • Applicant should be achieving satisfactory progression in their training programme, if relevant, according to ARCP goals.

Desirable

  • Evidence of active involvement in research or quality improvement projects.
  • Evidence of working with multidisciplinary teams in non-clinical environments
