The Paediatric directorate has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Children's nurse that has worked at a senior level. The candidate must have a visible track record of clinical expertise and service improvement through education and development and be committed to providing the best evidence based practice for Children and Young People.
We provide inpatient medical and surgical services covering many specialties as well as paediatric trauma, paediatric spinal rehabilitation, out-patient and community services. We have a commissioned level 2 Paediatric Critical Care Unit and a Children and Young People's Emergency Department.
The post holder will lead on the implementation of education, staff induction and preceptorship and the on-going professional development for all staff groups within the paediatric directorate.
The clinical educator in collaboration with the Clinical Matron will prioritise, lead and manage practice development projects through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead on the implementation of education, staff induction and preceptorship and the on-going professional development for relevant staff groups across the Children's services directorate including Paediatric Critical Care. Provide robust programmes of education, clinical competencies and assessment, collaborative networking and disseminate knowledge. The post holder will conduct training needs analysis for relevant staff groups, participate in audit and respond proactively to changes required accordingly. The clinical educator will act as a credible and professional role model, empowering staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential with the end outcome of enhancing the care delivered to Children and Young People.
The clinical educator in collaboration with the Clinical Matron will prioritise, lead, and manage practice development projects through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team.
Different educational styles will be adopted with a flexible approach to facilitating learning. The Clinical Educator will be highly visible in all clinical areas, supporting the team to deliver the best - evidence based patient care.
