ENT CONSULTANT SURGEON WITH SPECIALIST INTEREST IN PAEDIATRICS
Full time substantive Consultant contract
This post is part of the departments succession planning. The start date for this post is flexible.
Applications are invited for the new post of Consultant Surgeon in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery with a specialist interest in paediatrics, at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
This is a new post providing an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the expanding ENT team, currently comprising of eight consultants. . The successful candidate will link into a progressive and enthusiastic multi-professional team based at The James Cook University Hospital which provides comprehensive ENT services to the population of Teesside, South Durham and North Yorkshire.
Main duties of the job
The department comprises a fully established complete subspecialised Otorhinolaryngology service. This includes Head and Neck surgery, the sub-regional Head and Neck oncology centre, Paediatric ENT, Rhinology, Otology and skull-base. The department has a fully comprehensive implant service, offering cochlea, bone anchored and middle ear implants. Other specialist services in the department include adult voice, paediatric voice, airway and swallow, balance disorders, tertiary audiology and a complete head & neck dystonia service, offering botulinum toxin treatment.
Applicants should possess full GMC registration, FRCS (or equivalent) and either already be on the Specialist Register or be within approximately 6 months of receiving their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview.
The successful candidate will be appointed under the current terms and conditions of service for NHS Consultants. Full consideration will be given to applicants who wish to apply for a reduced/part time contract.
