Job summary
We have an opportunity for a highly motivated RN/ODP to join our JAG accredited endoscopy unit within Princess Anne Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit.
The endoscopy unit supports endoscopic activity for our Gloucestershire Hospitals NHSFT colleagues, preforming endoscopic diagnostic and treatment procedures.
The RN/ODP will be able to fulfil all the roles in endoscopy from admitting to discharge, assisting with procedures and decontamination. Your experience and knowledge will support the team to innovate and develop practice. You will be able to access the resources available within the department both from the highly experienced endoscopy leads and the consultant led service.
The ideal candidate will have post registration experience in endoscopy or theatre, with the range of skills required to work in all areas of the service provided by endoscopy. A knowledge of JAG processes, and JET training is desirable for this position however a comprehensive training package is available for the right candidate. Main duties of the job
- Deliver a safe and effective patient centred care to our service users and their families and carers
- Responsible for assisting visiting Endoscopists with a variety of procedures
- With the team to provide a courteous, reliable and quality service to patients, relatives and carers, other healthcare professionals and both internal departments and outside organisations.
- Be required to provide a professional, efficient and comprehensive service within the department fulfilling all the necessary tasks to facilitate and record patient treatment using paper based health records and information technology.

Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified; Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Return to Practice Practitioners. In addition to the programme we also offer all preceptees the opportunity of enrolling and completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module Preceptorship for Healthcare (AP7026).Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.
