Job summary
Would you like to learn new skills to support people with their mental health using NICE recommended CBT interventions?
If that sounds like you, an exciting development opportunity has arisen within NHS Talking Therapies Gloucestershire (previously Lets Talk)
We are looking for applicants who are suitably qualified and experienced to join us as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP), who upon successful completion of their course will graduate to a Qualified PWP role. You will work in our clinical service, whilst undertaking a taught Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LI-CBT) delivered by the University of Exeter. You will develop skills and knowledge that enable you to offer evidence based psychological interventions to people who experience common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
Working in our service, you will be in a supportive environment that offers high quality supervision in both individual and group-based settings. Our strong emphasis on workforce wellbeing means you will be working in a team that seeks to create a collaborative and compassionate culture focused on delivering an efficient and effective service for the people of Gloucestershire.
Main duties of the job
Your main responsibilities will include delivering low intensity psychological interventions to a caseload of patients experiencing common mental health problems. This involves facilitating psychoeducational courses, undertaking initial assessments, providing one to one treatment, as well as receiving caseload and clinical skills supervision. We predominantly deliver treatment over the telephone, with some psychoeducational courses and appointments being offered in person.
You will also work closely with GP's and staff in Primary Care settings to improve access and develop resources aimed at promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing. Alongside your in-service days you will attend taught days delivered by the University of Exeter; this will consist of part remote working and part in person attendance at a venue in Bristol (to be confirmed). You will be supported to meet the academic expectations and course requirements stipulated by the University of Exeter. More information on the course run by University of Exeter can be found here: Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy PGCert/GradCert/ Postgraduate Taught | University of Exeter

- 73.3% would recommend the organisation as a place to work;
- 82.4% agree that care of patients and service users is the organisations priority;

However, we know we have more to do and will continue to drive forward our commitment to making GHC a Great Place to Work.
