Job summary

The Business Intelligence Service at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Senior Data Developer to join our team to advance and maintain the data processes for our high-quality reports and dashboards.

In this interesting and rewarding role, you will take responsibility developing specific data sets and data sources. You will also assist with implementing Business Intelligence Reporting Tools and be required to line manage (an)other member(s) of the team.

If you have an eye for detail, appreciate the role of data in health care and can translate technical concepts into non-technical language, this is the role for you.

Please note that the majority of the time the work will be from home.

Main duties of the job

The role will have a specific focus on the design of processes to pull data together from varied sources to generate information that can be used by a team of analysts. This will require a working knowledge of SQL Server. Familiarity with the NHS information environment, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or Tableau Server would be an advantage.

The post holder will develop and maintain processes to support the provision of high-quality data for use within the organisation, including the organisation's BI solutions and manages the production of highly complex data from clinical and corporate systems to (help) produce reports and dashboards.

o Develop and maintain the automated processes for extracting, transforming, loading and disseminating data in-line with organisational requirements.o Support the Data Warehouse Manager in development, optimisation, management and troubleshooting of the organisation's Microsoft SQL Server estate.o Aid in the efficient design and implementation of new data sources.o Deliver expert technical knowledge in support of the organisation's SQL Estate, databases and data flow processes.o Identify problems and inconsistencies within complex datasets and identify solutions.o Identifying current gaps in information provision through close working with BI Analysis and other stakeholderso Manage, motivate and inspire team members, investing time in their development

  • Graduate, degree, diploma or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Formal Project Management qualification or similar experience
