Job summary
Provide specialist clinical consultation and advice to professionals working within a range of children's services within Gloucestershire as required. To include MAM and being a lead for the ATS and social care.
Undertake clinical leadership and/or other project management tasks as requested to actively contribute to service development and other continuous improvement cycle and ensure CAMHS continues to provide high quality, safe and effective services.
Provide CAMHS specialist clinical risk assessments (including Self Harm assessments) and complex risk management planning as part of routine clinical work. This will include leading and actively contributing to multi disciplinary clinical discussions and formulations.
Provide specialist clinical interventions within a multidisciplinary team where expected roles, responsibilities and activity/performance expectations are outlined within a personal (team based) job plan. This job plan will be reviewed on a quarterly basis and may be adjusted to meet team or service led requirements.
Main duties of the job
Provide a range of highly specialist CAMHS assessment and treatment interventions for children and young people (0-18yrs) and their families/carers who present with emotional and mental health difficulties as well as those children and young people who have learning disabilities. Provision will be in accordance to the application of a range of profession specific models of clinical practice.
Provide clinical leadership within the team alongside undertaking clinical responsibility for a caseload involving complex and high risk clinical formulation and decision making, adhering to risk management and care planning processes in line with Care Programme Approach (CPA) and liaising with Trust and multi-agency partners across Gloucestershire as required. There will be a specific focus upon providing specialist clinical assessment, formulation and treatment for those highly vulnerable children and young people who have high clinical risk and other complex/multi agency needs. To include clinical supervision of band 6 team members.
Demonstrate enhanced competency regarding complex clinical decision making and clinical formulation. For Clinical Psychology & Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy: Demonstrate clinical competency regarding clinical decisions with complex presentations.
Gloucestershire CAMHS is provided county wide through geographically located community teams (Gloucester/ Forest of Dean/ Cheltenham/ Tewkesbury/ North Cotswolds/Stroud/ Cirencester).

Work as a specialist CAMHS Registered Practitioner within a community team which accepts referrals from a wide range of multi-agency partners as well as providing an effective and timely response to urgent referrals.
Being the, named Designated Clinical Officer for the SEND work and monitor the SEND email inbox for CAMHS. Meet and work in a multiagency manner with commissioners and other agencies with the SEND agenda for CAMHS.
Undertake clinical leadership and/or other project management tasks as requested as part of service improvement initiatives.
Provide a key role within cross county CAMHS Clinics regarding specific disorders as part of routine job plan.
Ensure regular attendance at service wide and other core competency training events.
Provide clinical leadership regarding ongoing service improvement initiatives (including implementing learning from continuous improvement cycles) which are in line with the current CAMHS Service Plan or other service priorities. This may include undertaking clinical case reviews, routine audit, evaluating outcome measures and other research methodology.
The CAMHS CIC team are in the process of integration with the other CIC Teams within the CYPS Directorate (CiC Nursing and Permanency Adoption Team)
