Job summary

Calling all Registered Mental Health Nurses and student nurses soon to qualify as Mental Health Nurse. We are looking for Band 5 Nurses to join our teams!

We have an open day event at our Wotton Lawn Hospital which is an 88 bed acute mental health hospital situated near the centre of Gloucester and provides inpatient services for the county of Gloucestershire. The hospital has four admission wards, a nurse-led psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU)and a low secure unit (LSU).

** We are offering a £8,000 Golden Hello to the next 8 external RNMs who are recruited to Wotton Lawn Hospital. These nurses must have 12-18 months post registration experience and not have worked for GHC during the past 12 months **

As a band 5 registered nurse working in our team you will be given the opportunity to work alongside a wide Multi-Disciplinary Team to ensure the efficient running of the ward for our service users and their carers.

The posts are funded at 37.5 hours per week (full time) and could involve rotational shift system. Part time hours and 'Flexible' working arrangements will be considered. Any request will be set against genuine operational requirements and limitations and it is not obligatory for a manager to accede to the request.

Main duties of the job

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care needs of a specific group of service users
  • Supervise mentor and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students
  • Coordinate care for a specified group of service users
