The Deputy Service Director for Therapies and Equipment fulfils a key role in leading a portfolio of services within a newly formed Countywide Directorate. Success will be measured by the following key criteria:
- Improved outcomes and experience for service users, their families and carers for the designated services
- Improved/ efficient use of resources for the designated services
- Improved staff satisfaction within the designated services
- Continuous service improvements for the designated services
- Effective and timely support to the Service Director & Clinical Director to ensure achievement of the directorate business plan and wider strategic objectives
Main duties of the job
Service Delivery - for designated portfolio
- Responsible for operational delivery on a day-to-day basis, including any out of hours elements
- Budgetary responsibility for all pay and non-pay elements, including delivery of cost improvements
- Oversee all workforce management requirements including recruitment, disciplinary, grievance, PDR, talent management etc.
- Ensure that services are of a high quality, help to improve the outcomes for patients and meet all standards for safety; ensuring that these can be demonstrated
- Ensure governance and compliance with Trust policies
- Ensure business continuity plans are in pace to minimise the impact of any unforeseen incidents
Service Performance
- Ensure robust governance to assure Service Director, and others, of effective service delivery and waiting list management
- Lead the development/ delivery of recovery trajectories for services that are not meeting key performance indicators.
- Produce timely, accurate and engaging 'intelligent' information and reports
Service Development - for designated portfolio
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and lead change
- Lead the delivery of new services for example the NEW Community Neurology Service
- Transition new services into the directorate to support achieving Directorate/Trust ambitions
