The Head of Estates role isan exciting opportunity to join our established EstatesDepartment. This role is responsible for leading our teams and directing the strategic implementation of Estates activity across more than 150 different properties within Gloucestershire. You'll get support from the wider Estates and Facilities team and report into our Associate Director of Estates, Facilities and Medical Equipment.

You will give confident and clear leadership whilst you motivate, encourage and challenge your team to take ownership of their work and go the extra mile. A "can do" attitude is required, as well as a commitment to maintaining statutory and regulatory compliance across all of our teams and trades. Excellent planning and organisational skills are a necessity to prioritise your workload, and that of the teams.

Main duties of the job

  • To effectively manage the physical assets of the Trust's estate ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • To manage the planned & reactive maintenance regime for engineering and estates services.
  • To deliver estates compliance within the Trust
  • To lead the operational development of the Estates function and team, ensuring all statutory and mandatory roles and responsibilities covered and succession plans developed.
  • To maximise the performance of all available Estates resource and develop partnership ethos with not only Estates & Facilities colleagues, but all Trust colleagues.
  • To identify cost pressures within service areas and act as appropriate
  • To have responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of all Trust estates related policies

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.
