Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our safeguarding team in Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust as Named Lead for Safeguarding Adults. The post holder will be a senior and integral part of the safeguarding team and will work closely with the Head of Safeguarding, Named Safeguarding Professionals, and Director and Deputy Director of Nursing to deliver our statutory safeguarding requirements.

The post holder will provide adult safeguarding expertise and leadership within GHC and represent across health and the multi-agency partnership. The role is pivotal to complex case management, improved partnership working and quality assurance.

Main duties of the job

Apply policies, standards, legislation and statutory guidance to support everyday practice across the Trust, in relation to safeguarding adults.

Advise and support colleagues to ensure the appropriate assessment of risks are undertaken in order to improve outcomes for adults with care and support needs.

Work closely and collaboratively with internal and external providers/commissioners and partner agencies to support investigations regarding safeguarding adults with care and support needs.

Build and maintain effective working relationships across all agencies to improve Making Safeguarding Personal for adults who use services, working in partnership to promote a person-centred approach.

Professionally lead and operationally manage members of the safeguarding team, including the Safeguarding Adult Practitioners and the Mental Capacity Act/Liberty Protection Safeguards Lead.
