Progress your career from Nursing Associate to Registered Nurse (Adult)
This is a fantastic opportunity for existing Nursing Associates to progress their career and in 2 years gain NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
During the two year programme the Nursing Associate will continue to deliver service and care within the Hospitals Directorate. Additionally, they will be allocated supernumerary placements across a range of care settings to gain and embed clinical skills and knowledge to meet specific clinical competencies and learning outcomes under the support and direction of practice supervisors and practice assessors.
The Nursing Associate will retain their NMC registration as a RNA and when not in a supernumerary placement will work as a Nursing Associate. The Nursing Associate must be willing to resign from their current post to take up this opportunity be adaptable, reliable, and consistent to the demands of the undergraduate nursing degree programme. The curriculum designed to meet the needs of the changing health and social care environment will enable the Nursing Associate to develop their resilience and create the culture and conditions for health and care services and staff, to deliver the highest standard of care.
The Nursing 'Top Up' Degree Apprenticeship will progress a Registered Nursing Associate to a registered nurse with the ability to assess, plan, provide and evaluate evidence nursing care for patients experiencing a wide range of conditions.
About us
Within the Hospitals Directorate Registered Nurses are responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure high quality care and help patients return to their own homes.
Successful candidates will be employed by Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Trust as a Nursing Associate 'Top Up' apprentice and enrolled to the Adult Nursing Degree programme with University of Gloucestershire pending successful application and interview.
In addition to a 'base' placement Nursing Associate 'Top Up' apprentice will also participate in placement rotation to experience working in other healthcare services to gain a wide appreciation of health and care settings.

This opportunity is suitable for existing Nursing Associates who meet the following requirements:
1) Currently employed as a Nursing Associate by Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Trust
2) English & Maths GCSE/O level Grades A-C, CSE 1 or equivalent Level 2 functional skills (Certificates will be required at Interview)
6) 100% Statutory/mandatory training compliance and an up to date appraisal
7) Committed to continued employment and building a career in healthcare within Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Trust on completion of the course
Successful candidates will be required to resign from their current position to start as Nursing Associate Top Up apprentice in September 2023, they will remain on programme for 2 years.
No alternative dates can be arranged for interview or commencement of the programme.
