Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join the new Gloucestershire Integrated Care System (ICS) Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub, known as The Wellbeing Line (TWBL). You will join a creative and dynamic team who are committed to developing this exciting and innovative service. We welcome applications from nurses, social workers, psychologists, psychological therapists and AHPs.

TWBL is a confidential service hosted by Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. The key purpose of the service is to support health and social care colleagues across the ICS. TWBL works closely with Primary Care Networks, NHS Providers, Independent Care Providers, Gloucestershire County Council and the Clinical Commissioning Group/ICB.

The focus of TWBL is to:

Assess the individual mental health needs of staff who contact TWBL and support them to access relevant advice and treatment.

Provide mental health and wellbeing support and consultation for team managers/leaders and bespoke support for teams.

Proactively engage with the organisations within the ICS to identify needs/gaps in service provision, support local wellbeing initiatives, and share best practice between the organisations.

Provide proactive outreach to engage staff who do not typically access mental health support services and to better understand their needs (e.g. Staff from Black and Minority Communities, staff that are LGTBQ+ and other marginalised groups).

Main duties of the job

To complete thorough clinical assessments, and deliver individual and group-based interventions based on psychological and wellbeing needs. Considerable scope to shape and develop the role, to further develop skills in training and consultation to teams, and to be involved in service evaluation and audit. The post would be of particular interest to individuals who are experienced in working with staff mental health and well-being, group staff support, compassion focused care and/or trauma-informed practice.

Whilst this role is home-based, there will be a requirement to attend ICS bases across Gloucestershire. The successful candidate will therefore need to be available to travel, as required.

The role is temporary due to the way that this initiative is being funded. It is hoped that this funding will become permanent and if so the successful candidate will be offered first refusal on the permanent role unless there is an employee within the Trust who is 'at risk' and could have a reasonable claim on the role.
