Job summary

There is a an exciting opportunity to join our successful and expanding team as a manager within out Mental Health Support Teams.

Gloucestershire has been a successful part of the national Trailblazer programme for the last 3 years and has developed and integrated Mental Health Support Teams which aim to meet the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of children and young people in education settings. MHST's provide a key element within the Whole School Approach to promote resilience and wellbeing of pupils by supporting earlier intervention and increased access to mental health services.

The Team Manager to be responsible and lead the day to day management of two MHST's which are multi agency teams comprising of qualified CAMHS Practitioners, TiC+ Counsellors (a local charity) as well as both trainee and qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP's). The postholder will work alongside the Operational Lead to develop and embed effective and robust operational management processes and pathways within their MHST's.

Main duties of the job

Key elements of role are to:

Be responsible and lead the day to day management and line management to all CAMHS practitioners within the teams, including effective co-ordination of operational processes such as referral and case allocation and caseload management

Ensure there is regular and robust communication with designated primary and secondary schools, including regular Team Manager contact with Head Teachers and other school senior leadership staff

Establish effective working relationships with partner agencies within specified localities, including creating range of opportunities for interagency (esp 3rd Sector) partnership working

Demonstrate commitment to ensuring routine outcome monitoring is embedded within the development of the MHST's in order to demonstrate improvements in outcomes for children, young people and parents/carers.

Be able to plan and deliver against key milestones and demonstrate enhanced competence in operational decision making.

Collect and collate data and information effectively for the purpose of audit, and service performance.

Essential

  • Professional Health or Social Care qualification: RNLD, RMHN, OT, MHSW
  • Demonstrate current registration with a regulated professional body/ organisation: NMC, HCPC, BPS, ACP
  • Evidence of formal post graduate learning within a relevant CAMHS field or skill
  • Clinical supervisor qualification/training

Desirable

  • Post registration training in specific interventions applicable to children / young people and their families
  • Formal Teaching and Assessing Certificate / Qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrate extensive experience and expertise regarding delivering evidence based/best practice clinical interventions within CAMHS or related services and/or adult mental health settings
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in undertaking Self Harm assessments of children and young people
  • Demonstrate extensive experience of providing specialist CAMHS related consultation/ training and advice to partner agencies
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise and high levels of competency regarding CAMHS care coordination, including managing highly vulnerable children and young people with complex, multi agency needs
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise and high levels of competency regarding assessing and managing children and young people with high clinical risk needs.
