Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Orthopaedic Team at East Surrey Hospital as a Physiotherapy Administrative Assistant.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individual to work within our Orthopaedic Team providing administrative support. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work efficiently and responsibly, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This post involves providing administrative and clerical support to the Orthopaedic Team, developing and maintaining efficient office procedures, assisting with stocktaking and ordering of equipment, and being a first point of contact both face to face and on the telephone for patients, relatives, carers and staff.

The Orthopaedic Team is responsible for the assessment, management and discharge planning of a varied and diverse clinical caseload across their wards and the successful candidate will assist in the management of diaries, class schedules and updating patients electronic records. The post may also involve face to face patient contact assisting at classes run by the Team or on the ward as required.

This post does not involve seven day working at the present time, but may do in the future to meet service needs.

East Surrey Hospital Physiotherapy Department is a friendly, forward-thinking and innovative department with a well-established Clinical Governance programme and a focus on developing staff.
