Job summary
The Practice Development lead for clinical skills role is central to ensuring nursing staff can access clinical support and core skills trainig, enabling delivery of high quality evidence based care accross the Trust and specifically supports the trust in providing safe quality care throughout.
Working in Partership with the Lead for retention and practice development, the post holder will develop and embed evidence based clinical nursing practice across the trust through implementation and facilitation of clinically based education, training and skills development.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead to develop and deliver high quality training programmes, which is in the trust requirements. The post holder will use different data sources to identify incident trends, using data to inform updates to the training programme.
The Post holder will undertake Manual handling Training to ensure continuity of delivery within the Practice development service.
The Core programmes of training will include venepuncture and cannulation and intravenous accessa dn IV administration. The post holder will lead the clinical skills training team to ensure our nursing staff have access to clinical skills training.
There is an expectation that the post holder will also support our other Practice Development department programmes at peak times.
This post complements ward based/specific induction and education and will support and facilitate core practice based education to all sectors of the nursing workforce by delivering ward and clinical training and assessing clinical competency of core skills, role modeling best practice e.g manual handling in conjunction with ward staff either in the in classrom setting or clinical areas.
