Job summary

Are you an Occupational Therapist that is passionate about compassionate care? An OT that has a specialist interest in elderly care and ICT and has the skills to make a difference in the lives of people as they get older?

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 post in the Occupational Therapy Team here at East Surrey Hospital. We are looking for an experienced clinician with excellent clinical skills who is enthusiastic, motivated and ready for their next challenge.

In the last year, we have opened two new ICT wards in the hospital, that provide ongoing rehab and discharge support to our patients that our waiting to be discharged. These wards provide an opportunity for our therapists to create group activities and focus on the goals of the patients.

The highly motivated and dynamic Care of the Elderly team is a well established integrated multidisciplinary team and respected within the hospital. The Team is committed to providing high quality and effective therapy assessment and treatment to our patients across our elderly care wards.

Our department operates an integrated therapy service, where Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists work alongside each other in each of the clinical areas. The culture of multi-disciplinary working is well established and respected within the hospital.

Main duties of the job

This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to engage others, with a proactive approach to service development. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to a person centred approach in line with the Trust Values and Behaviours. As such, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to be flexible, work under pressure and thrive in a fast paced environment.
