Job summary
This is a 1-year fixed term developmental post. The successful candidate will be supported by specialists in each area of the midwifery service to achieve competency under each of the four pillars of the Consultant Midwife role 50% of this developmental role will be clinically focused in the area of safe birth and outcomes underpinned by the Public Health agenda.
The post holder will lead on key public health initiatives; aligning SaSH strategy to meet the NHSE objectives within the 3-yearly plan, enabling enhanced safety and quality of services. Act as a clinical expert in the field of maternal medicine and health inclusion. Lead, collaborate and design health interventions focused on public health and prevention, particularly focused on reducing health inequalities. This would include healthy lifestyle in pregnancy and beyond, smoking cessation, nutrition, reducing pre-term birth and collaboration with maternal medicine networks across the region. Work across a wide network of external and internal providers including ICS, ICB and Regional groups to deliver system-based solutions to complex problems.
