Specialist Doctor in Paediatric Dentistry

The Dental & Maxillofacial Department wishes to recruit an experienced and suitably qualified Paediatric Dental Specialist Doctor to provide specialist led care within the department.

This is a fixed term post from May 2024 - November 2024 to cover a period of maternity leave.

The successful candidate will have full registration with the GDC including specialist registration in Paediatric Dentistry and relevant postgraduate qualifications.

The post entails triage, assessment and treatment for patients referred and independent treatment under day case general anaesthesia and conscious sedation (inhalation sedation).

The post holder will be responsible for clinical supervision and teaching of a Paediatric Dentistry Speciality Registrar and Dental Core Trainees and the wider dental teams. This is an important part of the remit of this post.

We are a progressive and rapidly developing department with Consultant-led services in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Adult Special Care and Paediatric Dentistry. As a Specialist Paediatric Dentist, you will work closely with the other specialty leads, especially Paediatricians in the management of patients with complex disease.

The post is offered on a part-time basis with flexibility in the job plan.
