Specialist Dietitian ICU
This job is now closed
Job summary
Due to relocation of the current postholder, we're again looking for a Band 6 ICU Dietitian at East Surrey Hospital. You'll work with the lead ICU dietitian to provide a comprehensive service to this 17-bedded unit (10 ICU/ 7 HDU patients). The role also includes 'step-down' follow-up of ward patients following ICU stay if necessary, liaising with colleagues to ensure safe transition of care. On occasion there may be a requirement to support other specialties.
We're an acute unit team of 20 dietitians across this busy general hospital, designated a major trauma centre as we're the closest hospital to Gatwick. We've a strong focus on training and you'll be encouraged to supervise junior members of the team and student dietitians on placement. We're located in Redhill, 15 minutes' drive from the M25 (with plenty of parking on site) - or a 10 minute walk from Earlswood station which has regular services to central London/ South coast. Fringe weighting (salary + 5% uplift) applies to this post.
We'd like you to have experience of enteral and perhaps parenteral nutrition, and some insight into the complexity and fast patient turnover of a busy ICU. We use evidence based practice to direct our recommendations, so critical appraisal skills are useful. But this is a Band 6 post, so we'll provide you with training and knowledge to support your new ICU role.
