Specialty Doctor in Trauma & Orthopaedics

Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor post in the department of Trauma & Orthopaedics at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust on a fixed term contract for 12 month in the first instance which may be subject to subsequent extension.

The post holder will join the existing team of Consultants and Registrars in a busy unit dealing with a wide variety of trauma operating and elective sub-specialties. The successful candidate's work will involve working within a firm based structure with a named Consultant in a given sub-specialty, including regular trauma management. The post holder will participate in a 1 in 8 on-call rota, which includes weekend cover.

The Trust is an associated University Hospital of Brighton and Sussex medical school and offers excellent teaching and development opportunities. There is plenty of scope for research and audit, as per the applicant's interests and needs. There will be adequate support towards furthering educational and career needs of the successful candidate. The department has supported many doctors with completing their journey towards obtaining FRCS Ortho.

Based at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, the successful candidate may be required to work across all hospital sites, which include services at Crawley and Horsham.
