Lead/Principal Psychologist - Clinical/Counselling

Job summary

St Luke's Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital are recruiting to a 3 day a week fixed term post (one year duration). The post requires skills in staff consultation, training and MDT work and previous experience of working in cancer services.

The purpose of this post is to work closely with a range of leads in the cancer service and the thriving wellbeing centre and counselling service (The Fountain Centre) to develop a level 4 psychology service that both complements the existing wellbeing offer within the cancer centre.

You will work with clinicians, and clinical and strategy leads to shape the future of level 4 psychology in cancer care locally.

You will be part of a network of around 30 psychologists specializing in physical health who are employed by Surrey and Borders Partnership Foundation Trust and work into a range of local physical and mental health services and specialisms. Your supervision and management will be provided through this network.

Main duties of the job

Over the course of the year you will work with clinical leads to:

- Establish and evaluate an MDT focusing on psychological care.

- Provision of level 2 training.

- Psychological consultations to clinicians and teams

- Clinical supervision.

- Level 4 clinical consultations with patients

- Joint working with specialist clinicians

- Work with clinical and data specialists to generate data on the impact of the level 4 service.
