Lead/Principal Psychologist - Clinical/Counselling

Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership Foundation Trust provide a number of clinical health psychology Services into local acute trusts and into community services .

We are currently seeking a clinical/ counselling psychologist with specialist skills and experience to join a well-established multi-disciplinary pain team at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. Psychology is highly valued as an integral part of the MDT's practice.

You will be based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and there will be some scope for remote working.

The service is in the process of moving towards integrated care. You will be working alongside service leads to develop and evaluate strong pathways, processes and partnerships. As well as collaborating with your colleagues in the pain service you will be part of an innovative and supportive network of psychologists in physical healthcare, some of whom work in other pain services.

Main duties of the job

The focus of the role currently includes:

Consultations with patients, MDT and other healthcare professionals and teams

The development, facilitation and evaluation of online pain management programmes

The development of pathways and partnerships across services and organisations

Supervision of trainees and other professionals

The new postholder will have opportunities to shape the service in collaboration with the rest of the team and other stakeholders.

Your professional development will be supported through management and clinical and peer supervision, and access to CPD opportunities.
