Job summary

Rosewood is a registered care home with nursing services, accommodating up to eight individuals with learning disabilities and associated profound physical and health needs. The home is registered to perform two regulated activities:

1. Providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care

2. Treating disease, disorder, or injury

Rosewood is a spacious, purpose-built bungalow featuring eight large single rooms. These rooms are designed to cater to both male and female adults and include overhead tracking systems. Some rooms are also equipped with epilepsy monitoring systems, enabling us to meet the complex needs of each resident.

Our dedicated staff team comprises both nursing care professionals and support workers. They are committed to helping residents engage in active lifestyles that support their personal aspirations and life dreams.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the Home Manager in the day-to-day management and delivery of one of SABP's Care Homes with Nursing for adults with learning disabilities. To ensure the delivery of high-quality care for individuals with Learning Disability and Complex Health needs, which promotes independence and dignity and positively enhances the lives of individuals in our service.

To ensure the service operates in a safe, effective & efficient way as part of our learning disability services.

To foster a culture that encourages and enables individuals to have an active role in identifying, planning and meeting their individual needs, and enables staff to contribute meaningfully and develop their skills and experience.

To mentor, supervise and teach junior colleagues including Nurse Associates, particularly in relation to specific health conditions and clinical interventions.

To lead the care for a group of complex service users.

To participate in the recruitment, deployment and management of staff.

Management/Professional qualification at Diploma level 5 (or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards this). A clinical qualification to degree level or equivalent - RMN

Desirable

Willingness to Further knowledge with Leadership and Management Courses

Experience

Must have experience in working with people who have learning disabilities, and 2 years of relevant line management/leadership experience
Evidence of developing user and carer involvement and developing positive relationships with commissioners.
Evidence of supporting positive teamwork and valuing colleagues' skills and experience, as well as supporting them to develop.
Experience in leading and support a service to ensure medications are ordered, stored and administered according to Policy. Ensure medication protocols are in place and followed

Desirable

Full Driving Licence and willingness to drive Trust Vehicles to support people out.
