Ashmount
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Senior Support Worker to join Ashmount, within the Trust's Learning Disabilities Directorate.
Ashmount is a residential service for up to six individuals who have a learning disability, autism and behaviour of concerns.
We provide intensive support and a wide range of activities from our care service, which has excellent facilities and is set in its own large, secluded grounds.
We are looking for team members who are focussed on promoting people's rights, choices and independence and ensuring they live full and active lives.
The post holder will work positively and proactively with colleagues and will develop up-to-date knowledge of best practice and ranges of approaches within learning disability services and CQC requirements.
The post-holder would be involved working alongside the registered nurses and supporting people to access the community. The post will offer excellent opportunities for development.
Opportunities for joint working with other disciplines and agencies would be an integral part to the role.
The post-holder would need to hold a full driving license and be prepared to work flexibly in various locations across the Trust.
Excellent communication skills and confident use of IT would be key in this role.

Main duties of the job
Support people using the service with their individual preferences to promote and engage in a meaning individualised activity programme which promotes as much independence as possible.
To assist with all aspects of personal care (supporting continence needs, showering, bathing, etc) in accordance with individual's support needs.
To be a confident and competent driver who can drive a range of vehicles across all distances, local or national depending on the needs of the service.
Ensure that a high standard of activities and excursions is planned and executed, and that new activities are introduced as appropriate.
Reporting and recording all relevant information and reporting to senior staff any change in the person.
Actively contribute to the review and development of plans, assessments and reports.
Liaising with the staff team, manager, day services, our local community team and external agencies in relation to activities.
Administer and support individuals with their medication needs in line with the services requirements.
Supervise support workers within the service, providing support and guidance on good practice.
To provide person centred support as identified within the care plan ensuring respect, privacy and dignity at all times.
Help maintain and develop relationships between individuals and their families, friends and significant others.
