Job summaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic Band 8a Senior Category Manager to join our established team to lead the Corporate Services category.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent strategic leadership, communication and relationship skills, commercial acumen and the ability to drive continuous improvement and collaboration.
You will have responsibility for all procurement activity within your category, whilst developing your skills and career via mentoring and professional training such as CIPS.
The role is suitable for someone who has effective project management and planning skills for managing multiple procurement projects, a clear understanding of best practice procurement techniques. A track record of delivering within public sector or commercial procurement and/or contract management experience is required. An understanding of the Public Contracts Regulations and Procurement Act 2023 is desirable.We provide an integrated procurement service to Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP) and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT), which provide mental health services across Surrey and Sussex.
Staff are employed by SABP but can be based at either Leatherhead, or Worthing with the flexibility of hybrid working and access to a great range of non-pay benefits.
Please note that HCAS will not apply to our Worthing Base.
Main duties of the job
- To lead the corporate services category by developing and implementing procurement strategies, whilst ensuring compliance with the Trusts internal policies and applicable legislation.
- Provide professional commercial advice and support to all corporate services.
- Lead the development of appropriate sourcing strategies
- Conduct competition processes that result in contracts which deliver improved patient outcomes.
- Provide commercial contract management support to contract owners, including managing supplier relationships
- Drive efficiency and innovation
- Be an effective leader to drive maturity of the function and development of staff
