The Role:
As an Adult Eating Disorder Specialist, you will be part of a supportive and innovative environment, working with individuals affected by eating disorders. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing high-quality care to adults on their recovery journey. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessments, tailored treatment plans, and therapeutic support to our clients.
Main duties of the job
- Provide clinical leadership for the nurses in the Adult Eating Disorders Service, providing advice on all nursing issues and to act as a resource person for other professionals within that service.
- The post holder will support nurses to update their professional knowledge and skills and will provide regular clinical supervision.
- Participate in the triage assessment system, assessing new referrals and delivering care on the initial care pathway using core competencies which consist of psychoeducation, physical monitoring, motivational assessment and enhancement and basic dietetic counselling.
- To provide specialist assessment, care planning and treatment to clients with an eating disorder as defined within the Service Specification.
- To competently assess risk and write and review risk management care plans in accordance with national and local guidelines.
