Job summary
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work in our Therapies Service at Farnham Road Hospital, Working Age Adults service.
This post is full time (Monday to Friday), 37.5 hours per week
Our Service is committed to working in partnership to deliver high quality care and a recovery-based approach to mental health services. We use the Model of Human Occupation to guide all our occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
The occupational therapy leadership team is committed to an extensive, co-ordinated CPD programme including a robust supervision structure, care group meetings, Trust wide and core competence training, and an annual conference. Staff are valued for their expertise in occupationally focused interventions and specialist group therapy.
Main duties of the job
The post is suitable if you have previous experience working in mental health. You will be very committed to the processes that promote the individual's recovery. The role includes completing high quality, evidenced based occupational therapy assessments and interventions. The post holder will also have knowledge and experience of using the Model of Human Occupation. The ideal candidate must have demonstrable experience of supervising teams in a busy environment and have a passion for working with people who are acutely unwell. Effective communication individually and within a group setting, delivering high quality evidence based occupational therapy skills and interpersonal skills are essential.
You would be working alongside Occupational Therapists but will be working within a Therapy Team as well as with other key Multidisciplinary members in the Acute Care Service.
We offer a structured and well supported Occupational Therapy Development Programme. This innovative scheme offers a development pathway for new graduates and more experienced Occupational Therapists to become skilled specialist clinicians with a good range of knowledge and understanding.

- Mentoring
- Regular supervision
- Attendance at the OT Forum (CPD event)
