As we expand our services and enhance our treatment programs, we are seeking skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join us . our Trust-wide Adult Eating Disorders Service (AEDS) as part of the newly innovative Enhanced Treatment Team (ETT) and our Outpatient Eating disorders service.

This is a newly developed role working across both aspects of this service delivery.

The ETT is a multidisciplinary initiative offers a fresh approach to intensive treatment, reducing hospital admissions and providing an alternative to day care for initial stabilisation when needed.

As an Adult Eating Disorder Specialist, you will be part of a supportive and innovative environment, working with individuals affected by eating disorders. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing high-quality care to adults on their recovery journey. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessments, tailored treatment plans, and therapeutic support to our clients.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide high quality and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and interventions, both group and individual, to people who access AEDS and ETT services and their carers/supporters/family members, in line with the occupational therapy pathways.
  • To communicate effectively with people who access services, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and when appropriate outside agencies. To contribute to the generic functioning of the team.
  • To provide supervision and mentoring to more junior occupational therapists, occupational therapy apprenticeships, support workers and activities coordinators (as appropriate)
  • To provide occupational therapy student placements.
  • To contribute to service development and audits.

Desirable

  • Completion of a Fieldwork Educators Course
  • Drivers license suitable for the UK and access to a vehicle for work purposes

Experience

  • Relevant post qualification clinical experience with people who have complex needs
  • Experience of using multiple occupational frames of reference and approaches
  • Experience of using relevant occupational therapy assessment and implementing interventions
  • Experience in applying knowledge of the impact of health and disability on occupational performance, participation and identity
  • Evidence of an interest and skills in specialist area
  • Evidence of clinical reasoning skills
