Job summary
Surrey and Borders Partnership are looking to recruit a Full Time HR Advisor.
Your role will be to provide the Division with responsive advice on any issues which have Human Resources implications. These will include service planning, change management, employee relations and recruitment, selection and retention. Your guidance will enable and support the development of high quality care environments which consistently exceed both statutory and CQC requirements.
Please note that the interview process will consist of two parts: a case study and a face-to-face interview.
Main duties of the job
Suitable for someone who has the capability and drive to provide sound HR advice to a Division recognising the challenges they face. You will work with the HR Business Partner to ensure the Division is operating lawfully and respecting the values of our organisation in managing their workforce to ensure the provision of high quality services.

Key accountabilities in the role are:
Acting as an advisor to the Division providing professional advice in all aspects of employee management and good HR practice.
Developing an understanding of the services provided by the Division and their operational priorities and support the HR Business Partner to identify where and how HR management can contribute to that achievement as well as the workforce strategy
Being an active member of the Management meetings and contribute to decision making in relation to HR issues.
Day to day management of an HR Officer/Assistant, providing regular supervision to ensure they provide a high quality, personal service to the relevant employees
Coaching and training managers in the division and designing and delivering HR training programmes to the Division and our Trust as required
Developing and reviewing policies and procedures as required
Maintaining an effective relationship with the Division, and consistently maintaining high professional standards in line with the CIPD Code of Professional Conduct
Working collaboratively with staffside and union colleagues to build trusted relationships and create a supportive culture around employee relations issues
Supporting the HR Department with trust-wide projects and give respectful challenge where you have professional concerns relating to any matters
Championing the visions and values of our Trust and in particular where they impact on our workforce agenda both within the Division, the team and the wider workforce

- Degree level or equivalent relevant experience
- CIPD qualified or equivalent relevant experience
- Competent in MS Office packages
- Knowledge of current employment law and forthcoming legislation
Desirable
- Knowledge of NHS terms and conditions would be an advantage
- Knowledge of medical staffing would be desirable
- Proven experience working in an HR Advisory role in a large complex organisation
- Experience of supervising and managing a team
