Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a creative and innovative multidisciplinary CAMHS team in Hampshire: CYPS Community Team NEH. The post holder will be our Lead for Children in Care.

The post will be based out of the Aldershot Centre for Health 2 days per week and with our New Leaf Team in Ramsay House, Epsom, 1 day per week

My job makes better lives by providing the day-to-day co-ordination and delivery of intensive specialist intervention for looked after children living in the area of North East Hampshire, with the support of the Epsom based specialist New Leaf Service. Contributing to the continual transformation of emotional health and well-being support for children, families and carers in Northeast Hampshire, working in line with the philosophy of CYPS, the ITHRIVE framework, in keeping with the most up to date guidelines.

Job overview: To ensure the service operates in a safe, effective & efficient way as part of the whole system of emotional health and well-being services within the ITHRIVE framework. In addition, to foster a culture that encourages and enables individuals to have an active role in identifying, planning and meeting their individual needs.

To ensure that the experience of the CYP using the service is at the centre of any decision making whilst building outstanding supportive and responsive relationship with colleagues within North East Hampshire and leading on clinically challenging and complex cases as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

  • To work across organisational boundaries at the appropriate level to ensure that mental health services for children & young people in North East Hampshire are provided within a coordinated, inter-agency context.
  • To provide clinical and supervisory leadership to clinicians working with looked after children within the CYPS Community Team, within the getting help/ getting more help element of the ITHRIVE framework.
  • As a member of the CYPS Management team, to develop, review and maintain effective systems which ensure the service is delivered according to national, CQC, local and Trust standards, policies, guidelines and local service plans in accordance with the alliances vision.

  • Professional qualification at Diploma/Degree level i.e. RMN, or equivalent in social work, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, clinical psychology, or other such clinical professions
  • Hold a professional membership (eg NMC, HCPC.)

Desirable

  • Leadership/Management qualification or relevant training

Experience

Essential

  • Have a minimum of 2 years relevant management/leadership experience within a children's and adolescent service.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience working with children and adolescents with emotional health and well-being needs either in a social care or mental health setting.
  • Have a good understanding of the needs of children and young people who have experienced trauma and who have been looked after.
  • Experience of developing strategies that promotes an environment of user involvement and recovery and promote Health and Social Governance.
