Main duties of the job
Support the respite care managers and participate in organising and delivering in-service training, service development planning, budgeting, and roster responsibilities. Deputise for the Team Manager and represent them in team meetings as appropriate.
Lead by example and promote a professional, evidence-based practice for all. Be confident to raise concerns and challenge poor practice in the workplace where this standard and key result area fail to be observed.
Be able to assess situations and make decisions regarding risks, safeguarding or safety concerns and safe staffing issues. Provide support and guidance to colleagues to enable them to participate in these decisions. This approach is to be applied both in the regular place of work, as well as other services within Learning Disabilities as directed by the managers of the service.
Be able to carry out and/or support regular audits and continue to identify areas of service provision that require improvement. In response to this, participate in the design and delivery of a range of Qi projects that target weaker areas of care delivery and demonstrate positive outcomes.
Develop and sustain strong professional relationships with Divisional management, colleagues across the Division, colleagues in the community, the people we support, carers and families. Ensure that these relationships are based on respect, trust, inclusiveness and accountability.
