Mental Health Recovery Service (CMHRS)

We are seeking an enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling
Psychologist who preferably has experience of working in a Community Mental
Health Recovery Team. The post holder would be
working with friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary teams who truly value
the skills and expertise of our Clinical/Counselling Psychologists and
Psychological Therapists. We provide
high quality, recovery-focused, services to adults who experience severe and
enduring mental health difficulties. In particular, people with personality
disorder, complex trauma and psychosis.
The post will involve working in the North
West Locality offering leadership alongside the Consultant Psychologist to Woking
CMHRS. The post holder will be working closely with the Consultant Psychologist
and Services Manager.

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting time to join SABP and develop skills in leadership and service
development. We are working
closely with NHS England to develop our Community Mental Health Transformation Project.
We are going to be receiving additional funding to support training in
psychological treatments and it will be possible to engage in additional
training to improve access to a range of specialist therapy approaches for
Severe and Enduring Mental Health difficulties.
The post
holder will provide leadership and supervision to other psychologists in the
locality. Experience in working with complex trauma, psychosis and personality
disorders are desirable. The post holder will support the Consultant
Psychologists in the locality with matters of Clinical Governance and contribute
to Personality Disorders Forums and Risk Assessment Panels. They will be
involved in assessment and assigning of clients to specific care pathways, offering
evidence based psychological interventions within these and offering
consultation to staff. In addition, the post
holder will lead on specific service related projects as identified by the Lead
Consultant Psychologist and in line with Trust service objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to use leadership
skills within a committed and supportive adult mental health setting as well as
playing an important role in helping to shape the service.

To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation.
To plan and deliver a highly specialist psychology service (in leadership or advanced therapy role) and to oversee its clinical governance.
To be responsible for the professional leadership and continued development of a team and/or service area.
To lead in the supervision and contribute to Individual Performance Review/Appraisal of psychology staff, as required.
To ensure that the healthcare needs of people using services are communicated to and work in partnership with service commissioners and other healthcare providers for the best outcomes.
