We are seeking an enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist who preferably has experience of working in a Community Mental Health Recovery Team. The post holder would be working with friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary teams who truly value the skills and expertise of our Clinical/Counselling Psychologists and Psychological Therapists. We provide high quality, recovery-focused, services to adults who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties. In particular, people with personality disorder, complex trauma and psychosis.

The post will involve working in the North West Locality offering leadership alongside the Consultant Psychologist to Woking CMHRS. The post holder will be working closely with the Consultant Psychologist and Services Manager.

Applicants must be registered with HCPC.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting time to join SABP and develop skills in leadership and service development. We are working closely with NHS England to develop our Community Mental Health Transformation Project.

We are going to be receiving additional funding to support training in psychological treatments and it will be possible to engage in additional training to improve access to a range of specialist therapy approaches for Severe and Enduring Mental Health difficulties.

The post holder will provide leadership and supervision to other psychologists in the locality. Experience in working with complex trauma, psychosis and personality disorders are desirable. The post holder will support the Consultant Psychologists in the locality with matters of Clinical Governance and contribute to Personality Disorders Forums and Risk Assessment Panels. They will be involved in assessment and assigning of clients to specific care pathways, offering evidence based psychological interventions within these and offering consultation to staff. In addition, the post holder will lead on specific service related projects as identified by the Lead Consultant Psychologist and in line with Trust service objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to use leadership skills within a committed and supportive adult mental health setting as well as playing an important role in helping to shape the service.
