Job summary
We are delighted to be recruiting a 3rd Year Trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or HCPC registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join SABP's Tandridge Community Mental Health Recovery Services (CMHRS)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative 3rd Year Trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/ or HCPC Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with experience of, and a keen interest in mental health. We welcome applicants who are either in the third year of a formally taught Clinical/Counselling Psychology Doctorate, newly qualified or qualified with post-qualification experience. Any job offer will be dependent on meeting the person spec and/or HCPC registration. Any candidates who are within 12 months of attaining HCPC registration are encouraged to apply as well.
The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role and the large geographical area that this post covers.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will utilise a diverse range of professional skills including comprehensive assessments and formulations, therapy interventions, consultation and training to non-psychology colleagues, and contribution to service development initiatives.
The post holder will be professionally supervised by an experienced HCPC Applied Senior Psychologist and will be well supported within the psychology departments, where Continuing Professional Development and staff support are highly valued.
There will also be opportunities to meet regularly with other Trainee and qualified Psychologists across the Trust for CPD events and service development/transformation projects
Job Overview:
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services
To supervise and teach unqualified staff including students
Promoting a psychological perspective both within teams and sharing with other colleagues
To support team managers/ Clinical leads in the development and delivering of effective services
To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care. To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures. To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation.
