Job summary
An exciting opportunity has
arisen for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join Surrey Mindworks
Children and Young Person's (CYPS) Community Team (North East) to cover the current
post-holder's maternity leave. The successful applicant will assess the
psychological needs of young people using our services, and plan, implement and
evaluate specialist psychological interventions. They will work with diverse
children, young people and families with complex and challenging mental health
needs. They will mentor, supervise and teach both qualified and unqualified
staff, including Trainee Clinical Psychologists from the University of Surrey.
They will promote a psychological formulation based approach within the team
and will contribute psychological perspectives and advice within team meetings.
They will participate in the recruitment of psychological staff. They will lead
on service development projects, for example outcome methods and/or group work.
They will be supported to continue to develop their own professional skills in
order to develop clinical expertise. The NE and SE Community Team works together to provide an established, friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team. Due to the
range of skills of team members, practitioner psychologists are able to focus
on specialist psychology work rather than generic or duty tasks. There are
ample opportunities for high quality and specialist training to support the
successful applicants career development.
Main duties of the job
To
carry out specialist psychological assessments.
To
plan, implement and evaluate psychological interventions.
To
provide supervision, consultation and training to qualified and unqualified
staff.
To
contribute a psychological perspective to team meetings.
To
work with Mindworks Surrey Partners, Education, Social Care and other agencies
as required.
To
lead on service development projects.
