Job summary

We are looking for a Band 8a Senior Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to join our friendly and innovative Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIIP) Service. This would be ideal for an 8a looking to develop their experience in early intervention, or for a Band 7 who is ready to take up a more senior role.

This is an exciting time to be involved in early intervention, with national recognition of the effectiveness of the model leading to plans to expand and enhance the care that we provide. The role offers excellent professional development; including service development and leadership responsibilities within the psychology team.

You will be supervised by the Principal Psychologist, Band 8b and you will join part of the therapies team in EIIP which includes a band 7 psychologists and CBT Therapists. You will also be part of the wider team of Psychologists across the Trust in the Working Age Adult Directorate and there will be good opportunities for continuing professional development and support for relevant internal and external training opportunities.

Main duties of the job

You will be involved in assessment of clients referred to the team and will provide psychological therapy to clients and in formulation.
Collaborate closely with your MDT colleagues whilst also retaining the distinctive skills of a psychologist. Whilst you will be part of supportive teams, you will need to be able to work autonomously in visiting clients across a large catchment area.
Assist the Principal Psychologist in coordinating referrals to Psychology and service development.
Provide teaching and consultation to MDT colleagues and provide psychological opinion and knowledge within a friendly MDT
Provide individual and group psychological interventions including CBT for psychosis and an ACT for psychosis group
You will also have the opportunity to provide family interventions and support the team in the provision of this treatment
