Job summary
SABP Digital has the complex challenge of running and building secure and robust digital platforms to deliver and enhance health and care, as well as acting as a driver to improve clinical operations and value for money from the Trust's investment in technology.
The post holder will undertake investigations of users and their requirements in order to add context and insight into the process of designing the user experience. The post holder will employ a variety of techniques, tools and methodologies to reach conclusions, determine facts and uncover problem areas. This will reveal valuable information which will feed into the design process.
The post holder will have a good level of understanding of user research and best practices of user-centred design.
Main duties of the job
Suitable for someone who has excellent communication skills and is able to engage with staff at all levels. Is able to learn new technologies quickly and understand the way technology is used which is paramount to its effectiveness. It will suit someone who has a good level of understanding of UX research and best practices of user-centred design and is able to describe both with clarity to team members and project stakeholders.

Job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the relevant project topic, including those relating to clinical and business benefits, to inform relevant others about the project
- Creates clear and concise documents to support user research activity e.g. usability tests, requirements gathering, gap analysis, process maps
- Manages communications with key stakeholders to develop and iterate documentation
- Understand the impact and the rationale of relevant user research standards as well as general data protection policy (GDPR), persuading, motivating and influencing others to ensure adherence to the standards
- Collates highly complex information from a variety of sources e.g. data analytics, data generated through primary research and insight gathered through desk research for formal reporting and presentations
- Present complex and technical information clearly and concisely, adapting communication style to meet the needs of a variety of audiences
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal skills. Draft discussion guides and surveys that meet the project objectives
- Produces accurate, relevant and timely oral and written communications to relevant parties such as team members, senior managers and stakeholders through email, written reports, and slide decks
- Participates in group discussions analysing research findings, organising notes taken during research sessions into themes and identifying patterns
- Reviews and analyses quantitative survey data collates and uses appropriate graphical representations and statistics to describe the data
