Job summary

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, highly enthusiastic, and motivated Music Therapist who can place childrens needs at the centre of their clinical work and who is interested in delivering effective, innovative Music Therapy approaches within the children's learning disability team. This is primarily an outreach music therapy service for children who cannot access the music therapy base at Ramsay House.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this post include accepting Music Therapy referrals from the nurses within the CYPS LD team and providing Music Therapy assessments. This is primarily an outreach music therapy service for children who cannot access the music therapy base at Ramsay House and will involve offering blocks of therapy for children at their school or home, as appropriate, as well as sessions in the therapy base, as appropriate.

The post holder will also be active in developing the evidence base for their work through the use of outcome measures expected to work as an integral part of the Music Therapy service as well as establishing and maintaining professional relationships within relevant multi-disciplinary teams.

The post holder will be line managed by the Senior Manager for CYP LD and clinical supervision will be from the senior Music Therapist at Ramsay House
