Job summary
We are excited to recruit a permanent full-time (37.5 hrs pw) or part time (22.5-37.5hrs pw) Highly Specialist Band 8a Clinical Psychologist with the aim to support them to develop into a Band 8b Clinical Psychology Lead. We are looking for an individual with a particular interest in Eating Disorders, research and outcomes and someone looking to develop personally and to support our team to continue to grow and prosper.
The role also involves assessing and reviewing on our ARFID pathway.
A strong interest in working with Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders is required and previous experience of working with young people with eating disorders is essential.
The team has a strong multi-disciplinary ethos which enables people to grow and develop skills in a supportive environment.
The service has hugely expanded over the last 2-3 years and we are now recognised as a nationally top achieving service with some of the highest outcomes. We are a really friendly and dynamic team and are CARE Excellence accredited.
The service currently operates between Monday Friday (9am - 5pm) with further extended hours a possibility; the service is trialling a flexible 8am-6pm service from January 2023. We currently work with a mix of face to face and online appointments depending on the need and wish of the young person and the family. Flexible and part time hours will also be considered.
Main duties of the job
Working as a Senior Family Therapist in the Surrey-Wide Specialist Children and Young Peoples Eating Disorder Team and delivering highly specialist systemic assessment, formulation and treatment to children and young people with Eating Disorders and their families and care givers; by being part of the Leadership Team, offering consultation, training and teaching to colleagues from other professional backgrounds; by providing consultation guidance and clinical supervision to Band 8 Family Therapists and trainees and other junior systemic colleagues as required; running and supervising a weekly Team and Screen Family Therapy clinic; participating in recruitment and selection of staff; leading on holding complex and challenging cases of young people with Eating Disorders within a Systemic framework; Supporting the Team and our assistant Director ensure that the service continues to attain excellence in terms of clinical outcomes and service objectives.
