An exciting new
opportunity has arisen for a band 8a post for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
to join to work as part of well-established community recovery teams in
Southwest Surrey. The two teams are based in Aldershot and Surrey Heath and the
vacancy would be open to all newly qualified applied Psychologists.
The post offers a
diverse range of experience working with people with complex mental health
difficulties. You will join a friendly and supportive group of psychologists in
the locality and there will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and
skills through CPD.
The trust has an
enviable care pathways system which values psychology, psychotherapy and the
arts psychotherapies and there are opportunities to train in DBT, MBT, EMDR and
CBT for psychosis, family interventions, CBT for personality disorders,
compassion-focussed supervision and structured clinical management. Employees
are also able to access leadership and management as well as coaching and
mentoring and additional supervisors training.
As a Trust we pride

highest quality, person-centred care. As an early implementer site for new
models of care, we have a comprehensive primary care personality disorder
services as well as established primary care MH teams working alongside GP
practices. We are currently developing integrated care pathways across primary
and secondary care.
Main duties of the job
Job Overview: To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services.
To mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students.
Promoting a psychological perspective both within teams and sharing with other colleagues.
Work collaboratively with team managers/ Clinical leads in the development and delivering of effective services.
The postholder will be expected to work flexibly within the service.
To lead on complex and challenging cases and develop expertise within area of specialism.
Participating in the recruitment and selection of staff.
Leading on a specific service development projects.
The
candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
for work purposes due to the community element of this role and the large
geographical area that this post covers.
