Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a full time 10 PA Consultant
Psychiatrist in Working Age Adult at our well-established Runnymede and
Spelthorne Community Mental Health Recovery Service.The post is based at Unither House, Curfew
Bell Road, Chertsey, KT16 9FG.
The CMHRS
provides community care following the Care Pathways underpinned by the
principles of clinically focused risk management. The goals are of clinical
progression within a recovery framework. This is a well-resourced team &
you will work closely with the other 2 Consultants, Service Manager, Clinical
Leads, Psychologists, CPNs, Occupational Therapists and trainee doctors with
an admin support team.
Research, study, audit and quality
improvement are strongly advocated and SABP actively support your involvement.There is also access to
the weekly trust wide academic programme.
The post requires candidates to have Full GMC
Registration with License to Practice in the UK, MRCPsych (or equivalent),
Section 12 Approval and AC status.
The Covid-19 pandemic has
been challenging but has helped us to understand that we can deliver effective

communicate with patients, carers and colleagues
Main duties of the job
- The post holder
will be responsible for delivering consultant psychiatric input to patients
referred to and accepted for treatment by the CMHRS in line with the agreed
criteria and commissioned care pathways, including assessment and treatment.
- They will also provide clinical leadership to the CMHRS and to act as a
consultant/advisor to the team in line with models of practice recognised under
New Ways of Working particularly with respect to patients whose mental health
needs are complex and carry high risk.
- They will personally deliver outpatient
clinics each week and develop, alongside other colleagues in the team,
effective liaison with partner organisations and other local agencies.
- Development of a collaborative approach to team working with the other
consultants in the service is essential.
- They will be expected to consider all safe community treatment options
with the multi-disciplinary team for treatment prior to referring patients to
the 24/7 services.
- The post holder is
expected to be involved in the strategic development of the service and to
participate in operational and business planning within the CMHRS alongside
senior team colleagues.
- There are opportunities for clinical leadership at the
local primary care interface meetings attended by local CMHRS consultant
colleagues and GP mental health leads.

access to this network can be activated following discussion with the medical

Undertake audit activities to
develop the quality of service provided by the team supported by the Trusts
Clinical Audit Department and the identification of Supporting Professional
Activity in their job plan. The Trust is committed to participate in several
national audit programmes including POMH-UK and regular audits to support CQUIN
activity including cardio-metabolic assessment and intervention.
To achieve and demonstrate
agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed
timescales. To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager
