Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Liaison and Diversion Service are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated Band 6 RMN wishing to develop into a Band 7 Clinical Lead. The role covers Police Custody, Restorative Justice and Magistrates Courts.

The Liaison and Diversion Service aims to improve access to healthcare and support services for vulnerable individuals who come into contact with the youth and criminal justice system and to reduce health inequalities.

Our passionate Liaison and Diversion team seek to support those who have come into contact with the youth and criminal justice system with a caring, compassionate, person-centred approach to vulnerability screening and assessment for all those above the age of 10. This continues through to providing high quality community-based interventions to not only improve health and social care outcomes but also aim to reduce future re-offending.

The role requires you to provide clinical excellence and expertise to assess, plan care for our service users and also to clinically support the team to a high standard. A development plan will be provided to ensure your success in this role.

Our Liaison and Diversion Service is committed to developing practitioners by encouraging and providing opportunities for Continued Professional Development, participation in Quality Improvement initiatives and driving excellence.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the Specialist Services Division working collaboratively with Clinical Leads within the Liaison and Diversion Team including Reconnect Team, and the wider Liaison Psychiatry, Forensic Outreach Liaison Services, Perinatal, Home Treatment Team, Inpatient Services, Drug and Alcohol Services, CMHRS teams and FIND services.

You will use your unstoppable positivity and clinical expertise to raise the profile of the service and to ensure that, through excellent team and partnership working, we improve health and social care outcomes for people using this service. The post holder will be flexible enough to put the needs of the people who use the service at the forefront of their decision making, they will be confident enough to achieve our Trust's visions and values consistently and they will be committed enough to ensure that we achieve not only the national standards for Liaison and Diversion, but also that we continually strive to exceed all expectations.

This role requires you to be a clinical expert and an organised and efficient leader: you will need to be able to travel promptly between locations during the working day. Full driving licence is required. Our service operates shifts 07:00 19:00, Monday to Sunday.

Please contact Manveen Brar, Service Manager on 07385 424714 if you would like to discuss the post prior to applying.
